goat-logoGoat is a unique trio combining an exceptional sonic palette with an expansive sense of space and composition. They propel their music forward with a sharp harmonic and rhythmic sensibility, motivic development and a willingness to embrace spontaneity. With a unique arsenal of loops and electronic gadgetry combined with woodwinds, electric guitar and drumset, Goat embarks on a process that spans elements of rock, jazz and modern classical music. Their music is accessible to a large variety of audiences as they combine seemingly disparate genres of music through an abstract filter, spitting them out into a stark blend, creating a distinctive soundtrack for the imaginations of everyone.

Zach Stewart – guitar/electronics
Zach Stewart’s (aka Skiff Feldspar) guitar style draws from the spirit that created heavy rock, blues/roots music, country and jazz ib all it’s forms and extensions. Skiff has toured throughout the U.S. and Canada and has performed at Folsom Prison and The High Sierra Music Festival. He spent three years with Flowmotion and has performed with Tony Furtado, Jerry Granelli, Mike Dillon, Brad Houser, Greg Campbell, Don Goodwin, Tony Furtado, Steve Kimock, Paquito D’Riviera and many others.

Greg Sinibaldi – tenor sax/electric wind instrument
Greg Sinibaldi brings a history steeped in free jazz, studies in composition and a unique instrument in the ewi (electric wind instrument) to the trio. The ewi is a wind driven synthesizer, which Sinibaldi has programmed to create sounds that give Goat an interesting sound. He draws on his experience as a jazz player, new music interpreter and composer in his bands Frieze of Life, Cipher, and Vena Cava. He has also worked with the likes of Gunther Schuller, Jimmy Giuffre, Wayne Horvitz, Cuong Vu, Robert Dick, Reuben Radding, Amy Denio, John Edwards, Caroline Krabel, Matt Moran and many others.

Chris Icasiano - drums
Chris Icasiano is quickly establishing himself as a force in Seattle’s new music and avant-garge jazz scene. He performs regularly in the co-led duo Bad Luck with long-time friend and collaborator, saxophonist Neil Welch, which was recently awarded the 2009 Alternative Jazz Group of the Year by Earshot Jazz. Bad Luck’s self-titled debut album was received with much critical acclaim and has been described as, “…one of the finest Seattle Jazz recordings in years - fresh, assured, mature way beyond it’s players’ ages.” (Peter Monaghan, Earshot Jazz). Icasiano is also a member of the progressive avant-jazz group Speak, which features many of Seattle’s most forward-looking, innovative, and creative musicians, focusing predominantly on original composition and collective improvisation. Speak’s debut record is slated for release in April 2010 by Origin Records.
