Bandmates Aaron Otheim, Andrew Swanson, Bob Roberts, Kristian Garrard and Luke Bergman cite an unlikely assortment of influences in describing Heatwarmer’s sound—everyone from Toto to Ornette Coleman, to Baby Gramps to the Shaggs. “Phish-style noodling” may be one way to categorize a sound that defies categorization, but the group’s electrifying stage show is anything but sleepy.
